More scams than I realize

It never occurred to me that scamming on the internet is so widespread. Even so-called legitimate internet marketers resort to 'scam-my' tricks to make a buck. The fact of the matter is that when the amounts that you are asked to shell out are small, there is very little incentive for you to go and run after the scammer since that would entail more expense on your part with no assurance of success. Besides looking foolish for falling for the scam in the first place, one can only be seen as being even more foolish for running after someone who has probably done this a thousand times and could easily disappear in the Internet jungle.

When so-called expert internet marketers offer to share with you their 'fool-proof' plan to make you an internet millionnaire you must wonder at their motivation for doing so. Is it altruism or does he know something that you don't? Namely, that he is making money from people like you and not from the stuff he is teaching. That should be fairly obvious. Still, many fall for the line that they pitch and plunk in their dollars. Do they succeed and become internet millionaires or do they fail in ignominious silence?

Directories and Web Portals. These are popular concepts and they are supposed to be magic bullets. I wouldn't know. I haven't had any sort of success on the Internet. Maybe I should travel to exotic destinations to help me get rid of this preoccupation with the Internet.
